HCC District Communications wins 13 Medallion Awards

The Houston Community College (HCC) District Communications Department won 13 Medallion Awards at the American Association of Community Colleges National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) District 4 Conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

One of seven districts across the U.S., District 4 includes six states: Arkansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wyoming. Marketing, advertising, public relations, and communications professionals judged more than 300 entries from community colleges in District 4 for design merit, intended use, and success of implementation.

HCC Communications was awarded Gold Medallion Awards for:

• HCC Corporate College Brochure

• Original Photography – Manipulated (Culinary Arts)

• Single Flier (“Earn Your GED”)

• Wild Card Category for the design of a commemorative coin for the HCC Chancellor

• Electronic Academic Catalog

• Printed Viewbook (Media Arts & Technology Center of Excellence)

• Notes/Cards/Invitations (“Imagine Your Future” Grand Opening Invitations)

• Online Academic Catalog

The department earned Silver Medallion Awards in the “College Annual Report” category for “We are Houston’s Community College,” and the Continuing Education Printed Class Schedule. Bronze Medallion Awards were given for Original Photography – Manipulated, Microsite (HCC Corporate College), and Computer-generated illustration.

“We are fortunate to have an outstanding team of graphic and web designers who take pride not only in their work professionally, but also in our institution, and that is demonstrated by this well-deserved recognition from NCMPR,” said Joseph Conway, interim executive director for Marketing and Brand Management.
