Expert speaks at HCC about immigration and work in America

With Election Day less than one week away, many voters still have questions about immigration. The Houston Community College (HCC) History Department is making a leading immigration expert available to explore this hot-button issue.

Dr. Alan Kraut, American University professor, will discuss the impact of immigration in the U.S. Labor force and wages for American workers.

Dr. Kraut is a prize-winning author and editor of nine books on immigration and ethnic history as well as the former chair of the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island History Committee. His lecture is free and open to all.

The lecture is being presented through a collaboration between the HCC Central History Department and the Organization of American Historians Distinguished Lecture Series.
