HCC celebrates employees at All College Day Ceremony and Awards Luncheon

Houston Community College honored its employees during the annual All College Day Ceremony and Awards Luncheon on Friday, April 10 at the Bayou City Event Center.

More than 300 dedicated employees received special recognition for their contribution to the institution as HCC presented Service Awards to those who have provided five to 40 years of service.

The 40-year award recipient class included Southwest College Executive Secretary Mary Davis, Northeast College Business Administration instructor Norman Hanks, Central College Dean of Student Development Cheryl Johnson and Coleman College Vocational Nursing instructor Mary Luckett. The class was introduced by HCC Chancellor Dr. Cesar Maldonado and each individual received a framed certificate.

Vice Chancellor of Instructional Services and Chief Academic Officer Dr. Kimberly Beatty introduced the 35-year and 30-year honorees, while acting Vice Chancellor of Student Services Dr. Irene Porcarello presented Service Awards to the 25-year and 20-year classes.

To conclude the event, Dr. Maldonado recognized the Diversity and Inclusion Champion Award winners, who were announced at last month's Diversity and Inclusion Summit and Expo. These individuals were honored for the outstanding contributions they have made toward advancing the purpose and goals of the HCC Diversity and Inclusion Mission.
 
The student award went to Antonio Maldonado of Southeast College. The faculty award went to Kenneth Hernandez, department chair of Business Administration at Northwest College. The staff award went to Senta Eastern, ADA counselor at Central College. Congratulations to everyone.
