Metro Q Card
With the METRO Q Card which is valid for two years, you get the following benefits:
- 50% off your fare
- 5 free rides for every 50 paid trips
- $0.60 each way on local bus/trains
- Available to all students (no credit hour minimum)
- You will be able to use it on every METRO trip
How to get your card:
- Get your metro cards where you get your HCC Student ID cards (Easiest Way)
- Show your student ID & we’ll print the Metro Q-card for you
- Get with directly with Metro
- You can obtain one through the METRO Online RideStore and your card will be sent via U.S. mail. During your store transaction, you’ll be required to upload specific documents as proof of eligibility.
- You can also obtain a discounted METRO Q® Fare Card at any METRO RideStore location
- If getting a card from Metro, you'll need:
- Government-issued photo ID
- Proof of credit hours (choose one)
- Current class schedule
- Letter from college verifying you’re a current student (HCC Registration Office)
- Discounted METRO Q® Fare Card registration form signed and stamped by school registrar

- Harris County RIDES-
- RIDES is a great option for people for whom public transportation is either unavailable or inaccessible — helping eligible residents make doctor’s appointments, do grocery shopping or otherwise just get around and remain independent.
- RIDES is a curb-to-curb subsidized program that allows eligible customers and participating agencies to purchase transportation services at a significant discount. The customer/agency pays 50% of the total trip cost.

HCC Resources
- HCC Emergency Help: Whatever the case may be, we have resources to help you not let a financial emergency take your attention away from school. Current students facing financial emergencies during the semester are encouraged to apply for available emergency aid based on need eligibility requirements.
- HCC Financial Coaches connect you with on-campus and community resources that will help you push through financial emergencies; make refunds last longer, and start making steps toward financial security.
- HCC Scholarships: In addition to federal and state aid, scholarships are a great way to help with the cost of your education. We encourage you to learn about the different types of scholarships awarded by financial aid, the HCC Foundation, and outside groups.
- HCC Financial Aid: Financial aid is available to help eligible part-time and full-time students pay for college. It can be a combination of scholarships, grants, loans, and Work-Study.
