Spring 2022 Update: Important

Jan 2, 2022

Dear HCC Eagles,

As you are aware, there is a surge in the highly contagious Omicron variant which is causing a rise in COVID-19 cases across the country, including the Houston area. The Houston Community College (HCC) Incident Management Team (IMT) is closely monitoring this condition with the intent of promoting your good health and safety and creating an environment that is conducive to delivering a quality education and experience for our students. As we face this challenge together, you are at the forefront of our decision making.

Notably, health experts project the surge to peak in January. With this in mind, HCC will modify its operations in January, and adjust as circumstances warrant. For your immediate information, please observe the following:

  • Effective Monday, January 3, with the exception of Testing, the Student Services and Financial Aid departments will transition to virtual support through January. Click here for details, including hours of operation.
  • Due to existing circumstances, adjustments to certain in-person courses will be made and a more detailed communication will be distributed to students by January 7, 2022.
  • Observe the three W’s (wash your hands often, watch your distance, and wear masks) both on and off campus and help us by taking the Soar Safe pledge.

With your support, we will successfully overcome this challenge as One College. Stay safe and continue to monitor your email, social media channels, and HCC’s COVID-19 webpage for updates.
