ATCP Information for International Students
Applicants with an undergraduate or graduate degree from a university or college outside the United States require transcript evaluation by a credential evaluation service. The transcript evaluation must include:
- Educational degree equivalencies
- Overall and last 60 semester hours grade point average.
- Course-by-course analysis.
- Divisional course analysis (if teaching in grades 7-12).
- A “teacher certification” evaluation is preferred.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) internet-based (iBT) exam scores are required if the language of instruction is not English.
The required scores are:
Reading: 18–23
Listening: 17–21
Speaking: 20–24
Writing: 17–23
Houston Community College’s (HCC) destination code (DI) is 6296.
- English is the primary language of instruction. The institution may provide a letter on official university letterhead confirming English as the official language of instruction.
- If an additional degree is obtained within the United States. However, a credential evaluation service must still evaluate the degree obtained outside the U.S.
