Dear Friends,
Houston Community College (HCC) is beginning a new era, with new leadership and fresh ideas. As your District IX Trustee, I am fully committed to making sure HCC is prepared to engage the rapidly changing landscape of higher education and will continue to provide the very best in academics and workforce training. Your academic or professional journey with HCC offers a great setting for you to enhance and complete your credentials.
New Chancellor
The Board of Trustees voted on January 24, 2024, to name Margeret Ford Fisher, Ed.D. the chancellor of Houston Community College System. Dr. Ford Fisher served as the interim chancellor from September 1, 2023, until January 2024. Dr. Ford Fisher’s deep institutional knowledge, close to 40 years at HCC in various leadership roles, along with her innovative vision and nationally recognized leadership, makes her the ideal executive to lead HCC in educational excellence
Digital Access Centers
In the Fall of 2023, we took a major step towards increasing the digital footprint of HCC with the opening of nine Digital Access Centers. These centers are all-inclusive spaces for students in need of digital learning support and will provide tools for digital literacy and academic success. These centers are also open to the public, and we encourage you to take advantage of the Digital Access Center for your computer access needs. You can find a location in your neighborhood at the campuses listed below:

Credentials of Value
HCC has dozens of programs that lead to certificates and/or associate degrees. Our goal is to provide education and training in in-demand career fields so our students can take their place in the region’s dynamic workforce. Whether the goal is to find a meaningful, well-paying job or transfer to another Texas college or university, HCC is ready to help students through to the end of their educational journey.
New Bachelor Programs
Understanding the critical need for skilled workers in rapidly growing career paths within various sectors of STEM professions and the need for upskilling in healthcare managerial positions, Houston Community College now offers bachelor’s degree programs in Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Robotics, and Healthcare Management.
