MISSOURI CITY – The public is invited to attend a symposium and job fair June 16 that will provide employment and education opportunities to residents of Missouri City and Fort Bend County through a newly formed community partnership.

The Workforce Development Symposium and Job Fair will provide information about educational and technical programs to help residents to enter the workplace. It will take place from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at HCC Missouri City campus, 1600 Texas Parkway in Missouri City.

As part of the 2023 Juneteenth celebration, the Missouri City Juneteenth Celebration Foundation, Houston Community College, and the City of Missouri City have joined hands to organize the event.

The symposium will include workshops on resume writing and mock interviews to enhance interviewing skills. Job areas covered include police, fire, emergency medical technician/paramedic, phlebotomy and other career paths. Completing the education programs may lead to jobs for students pursuing an associate degree or a four-year degree.

The event also will feature a job fair where companies and organizations will offer information about career opportunities, including those offering job interviews on site.
