HCC gains recognition for service to veterans

Houston Community College’s (HCC) Department of Veterans and Military Affiliated Student Services (VMASS) has been recognized by the Military Friendly Organization as one of the top higher education institutions for the military community.

As part of this recognition, the website G.I. Jobs will publish and distribute its Guide to Military Friendly Schools with a description of HCC’s extensive efforts for veterans.

The guide is published as part of the website’s effort to help veterans explore and transition into career and post-secondary education. It will list and describe educational institutions that demonstrate commitment and success in creating meaningful educational benefits for transitioning military students.

“The recognition could not have made possible without the leadership of Ms. Kapree Thomas, director of HCC’s VMASS office, and her dedicated staff,” said Dr. Shantay Grays, vice chancellor of Student Services.
