Spring 2019 Newsletter from Trustee Neeta Sane

Jan 8, 2019

Dear neighbors,

I wish you a very Happy New Year as we look forward to greater progress in the year ahead!

The educational success of our students continues to inspire me and, therefore, my focus will continue to be on ensuring that HCC offers affordable and accessible education in partnership with regional ISDs and industries for academic and workforce pathways that are relevant to the job market.

With service dedicated to public good and student success, I am grateful to be selected to serve on the 2019 Public Policy and Advocacy Committee of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT). I am looking forward to working with other thought leaders from across the nation to analyze and advocate for positions that will ensure student success, workforce education and economic growth. ACCT serves as the voice of community college leaders in the congressional and executive branches of government. It is comprised of 6,500 trustees who govern more than 1,200 two-year colleges in the U.S. As members of ACCT’s 2019 Public Policy and Advocacy Committee, we will be reviewing public policy issues and making recommendations accordingly.

We look forward to your registering for HCC classes soon! You can transform your life at HCC with lifelong learning, retooling and preparing for careers.

In service,

Neeta Sane
HCC Board of Trustees
District VII
