Oct 2, 2018

State and national industry leaders will learn how technology is transforming the manufacturing industry at the Gulf Coast Advanced Manufacturing Conference Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the HCC West Houston Institute, 2811 Hayes Road.

At the annual conference, co-sponsored by Houston Community College and the Greater Houston Partnership, industry leaders will present digital trends and automation of tomorrow and explore the impact of technologies on workforce and economic development.

The digital age of manufacturing is transforming every link in the manufacturing chain and companies are advancing and developing strategies to adapt to this new environment. Conference attendees will learn ways to increase profit margins while boosting the region’s competitiveness as a leader in advanced manufacturing.

Among numerous emerging technologies, additive manufacturing (3D printing) is transforming the way that complex high-performance products are conceptualized, prototyped, replicated and ultimately produced. Meanwhile, automated manufacturing processes eliminate hazards and keep out wasteful processes through consistency and continuity.

Conference registration will take place at 8:30 a.m. and a panel discussion will follow from 9 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. Luncheon registration and networking will take place from 11:15 a.m. – noon and the luncheon program is from noon – 1 p.m.
