The Greater Houston Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (GHCVB) has selected Linda Toyota to serve on the Houston First Governance, Audit and Finance Committee. A member of the GHCVB Board of Directors, Toyota is the associate vice chancellor for communications at Houston Community College (HCC).

“I am honored to be selected to this Houston First committee because it plays a central role in the economic development of our community,” Toyota says.

Houston First operates the city’s finest convention and arts facilities to position Houston as a world-class destination.  In 2014, Houston First and the GHCVB aligned operations to create a single voice representing the city under the brand Visit Houston.  Houston First owns the Hilton Americas-Houston hotel, manages the George R. Brown Convention Center and 11 city-owned properties, and is the driving force in developing the new Avenida Houston entertainment district.

HCC Chancellor Dr. Cesar Maldonado says, “Linda’s selection to the Houston First committee is another example of HCC’s deep involvement in our community’s economic development.  Linda’s experience and counsel will be vital to the committee’s ongoing success.”
