Here are the judges' comments:

Judge 1:

"Strong graphic impact making information easy to find and attractive. Clean design and use of high quality photography throughout makes this inviting and easy to read. Additionally, text is managed thoughtfully with design elements helping break up visual text monotony and help direct the viewer to what they may be seeking."

Judge 2:

"Immediately HCC brand is established on main page of website. Graphics are clean and well done. Concise and efficient writing, compelling and engaging. Excellent use of graphics, design and photography. Love the way the courses are called out in individual boxes with actual photography of the subject area. Very professionally designed. Nice use of roll-overs and call outs. Links were well used and effective. Very robust and well executed site. HCC branding is consistent throughout."

Judge 3:

"You effectively communicated that yes, indeed, Houston Community College provides a high-quality, innovative education. Figuratively, this piece has retention and attraction written all over it. Pride pours from this piece as the student and for the student. The work of an experienced writer never wavering from the brand voice. Short, concise and consistent. Spot on. I want to spend time interacting with this piece. The design is so smooth, well done, consistent and strong that you made it look easy. Make no mistake, I understand the complexity of this piece, nothing was easy. Your hard work paid off. You could develop visually, jaw dropping, electronic pieces, however, if the experience becomes cumbersome, the experience is over. The user experience was top of mind when developing this work of art. It is extremely intuitive. Hold up wait a minute, this is the one. The one that stopped me in my tracks. The one that made me question if a seasoned designer working at an advertising agency designed it. The one that deserves to win an award. Visual communication is about effectively sending the right message to the right people at the right time. Houston Community College, Job well done. This is a statement piece. It says, "I take pride in my school and my school takes pride in me." As a student I would be proud and as a prospect I would seriously consider this school."
