Haute Wheels Festival is recipe for HCC student success

May 2, 2016

Food trucks converged on the Houston Community College (HCC) West Loop campus parking lot for a good cause – to support HCC students. The Haute Wheels Food Truck Festival not only served up great food; but it also raised $6,716 for the HCC Foundation.

The two-day event brought out 35 local food truck vendors and musicians. A percentage of the proceeds raised goes to the HCC Foundation, which helps students pay for tuition and fees.

The HCC West Loop campus is proud to host the largest food truck festival in Houston, which sees over 4,000 people pass through the gates. The festival truly highlights Houston’s diversity from Hawaiian burgers, Louisiana cuisine, Pilipino dishes, and even comfort foods like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The event is a perfect pairing with HCC, which ranks number one in the nation for international students served.
