HPD Chief discusses key issues during HCC Social Science Lecture Series event

Houston Police Department Chief Charles A. McClelland Jr. served as the keynote speaker for a Social Science Lecture Series event hosted by the HCC Sociology Department on Nov. 3.

McClelland talked about his humble beginnings in small-town Center, his rise from local Houston police officer to Chief of Police, his accomplishments as Chief, his perspective on the campus carry law, the use of body cameras, and the recent school shootings throughout the country and how we can all play a role in preventing such tragedies in our city.
