Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) awarded HCC the Texas-Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (T-STEM) Challenge Scholarship Grant Program. This grant supports development, implementation, and maintenance of scholarships for students pursuing degree programs in STEM programs. The T-STEM grant assists to increase graduation rate in STEM and related degree and certificate programs. HCC has been awarded a total of $398,000 for the academic year 2016-2018. HCC must award scholarships to eligible students for the 2016-2018 academic year, beginning with the fall semester 2016. HCC may award scholarships to eligible students in an amount not to exceed $2500.00 annually for a maximum of two years of support. Apply Now!

T-STEM Challenge Scholarship Program Fall 2016 Awards Ceremony
TSTEM Orientation - 2016
The TSTEM Orientation was held on October 26th, 2016. Professor Branson Brade, the Director of the TSTEM Scholarship Program served as Master of Ceremonies. Timor Sever, Dean of the College of Mathematics gave a short welcome and congratulated the students. A keynote address was provided by Dr. Jerome Drain, Dean of Earth, Life & Natural Science. Dr. Drain outlined the future projections regarding jobs, skills needed specifically for STEM careers, the necessity for additional STEM majors, and emerging technology. Approximately 75 students were awarded the scholarship for the 2016-17 academic year which included a very competitive application process and essay.
