College Educational Technology Services (CETS)

Our mission is to provide our students, faculty, and staff with quality instructional technology and computing support services to enhance a student-centered learning environment.

CETS Services

Instructional Computing – End-user support to all campus computer labs, classrooms, and offices.

  1. Provide computer lab management, hardware/software user support, printing supplies, and scheduling for 27 computer labs (19 at Eastside and 8 at Fraga) for academics, workforce, and continuing education programs.
  2. Deliver, setup, and assist faculty and staff with laptops, projectors, and multimedia equipment in the classroom and community special events. Manage and support student use of LMS tools and instructional software.
  3. Maintain equipment inventory control.

Tech Support- Local Area Network server administration, and desktop hardware/software tech support.

1- Server Administration

  • Administer and maintain all local servers at SEC 3, except for provisioning.
  • Perform OU admin.
  • Support printing services.
  • Support local web services.
  • Support local cloud computing servers (Citrix).
  • Work with the district’s IT departments to implement several services level agreements (SLAs).

2- Process all work orders for instruction and admin requests received from the IT Help Desk at 3100 Main Street.
3- Instructional Support

  • Support all instructional computers and peripherals at SEC (PC and Macs).
  • Support mobile devices that have been purchased by HCC funds.
  • Maintain Hardware/Software standards.
  • Maintain Hardware/Software requirements for instructional software.
  • Admin Support
  • Support all admin computers and peripherals at SEC (PC and Macs)
  • Support mobile devices that have been purchased by HCC funds.
  • Support registration.
  • Support WhosNext client for student services and financial aid.
  • Support testing labs.
  • Support CashNet operations.
  • Support the WebNow admission application.
  • Support ID card machines.
  • Support the Millenium barcode system in the library.
  • Support the AXIS displays.

4- Manage the equipment replacement plan.

Curriculum Innovation Center (CIC)- Support to faculty with online instruction, college web services and multimedia development.

1- Manage the Curriculum Innovation Center (CIC).

  • Coordinate faculty/staff training for online instruction.
  • Provide faculty mentorship for online instruction (EO and other tools).
  • Check out laptops, projectors and other media equipment.

2- Administer and support the college web site and online learning management systems (Eagle Online & Learning Web)
3- Manage the SEC educational technology web services (forms, surveys, and limited web applications).
4- Support faculty in the LW ( password setup, and instructional design)
5- Provide videoconferencing support.
