First Year Academic Advisor
Senior Advisors are assigned to first-year students enrolled in a student success course. You are required to complete the following advising activities with your assigned senior advisors:
Required Advising Assignments (For students enrolled in success course, who have not completed 12+ college hours)
- Advising Session #1: Advising session #1 is a group advising session takes place in your success course classroom. Your assigned senior advisor would visit your class within the first two weeks of class for a brief introduction and to review required advising assignments. Your instructor will notify you about this visit; please make every attempt to be present on that day.
- Advising Session #2: This is your chance to meet with your assigned senior advisor one on one. You are required to complete your academic planner before you visit with your advisor so, they can go over it to make sure it is accurate. In this meeting you can also discuss any questions you may have regarding the courses and degree options….. Completing your Academic Planner
Required Advising Assignments (For students who have successfully completed the success course)
- Advising Session #3: Your assigned senior advisor will get in touch with you to find out how you are doing and if there is anything that we can do to assist you. Please look out for this communication and get in touch with you senior advisors, as needed.
